February 12, 2024 - She Rocks Science! - Event on the occasion of the International Day of Girls and Women in Science.
On the occasion of the International Day of Women in Science, which is celebrated every year on Feb. 11, the Department of Physics, in collaboration with the research centers active in the department (CNR, INFN, INAF, IIT), is organizing an event open to faculty and students. The event will take place at the Marconi Building of Physics Department according to the following schedule:
15:45-18:00 Aula Amaldi - Roundtable on Women and Science. Speakers will be:
Camilla Gaiaschi (University of Salento): Gender inequalities in academia: numbers, reasons and mechanisms
Ilenia Picardi (University Federico II of Naples): Glass labyrinths in science: an analysis of gender structures in Physics
Mariacristina Sciannamblo (University La Sapienza): Making difference: experiencing computing through the lens of gender
Eleonora Severini (University of Pavia): Whose science? Whose knowledge? The feminist perspective in epistemology
It will follow a round table including the speakers and the audience.
18:00-19:30 First Floor of Marconi Building- Meet and Greet: young female scientists active in the Department of Physics will present posters on their research activities. The posters are aimed at dissemination of the scientific results to an audience of students in the bachelor's and master's degree.
19:45-21:00 Outside Marconi Building - Dj Set and Apero: let’s get together with music and drinks!
