Fisica per Filosofi

Fisica per Filosofi
Tuesday, 4 May, 2021

Presentation of the book "Fisica per Filosofi" by Carlo Cosmelli, physicist and lecturer of the course "Principi di Fisica" in Philosophy. During the meeting we will discuss, among other things, why to write a book that is halfway between the excellent books on the dissemination of Physics, where formalism is completely absent, and specialized texts, incomprehensible to most.

The book, with the historical-philosophical inserts written by Paolo Pecere, philosopher (University of Roma Tre), is addressed not only to students of Philosophy but also to all people who want to follow the conceptual path carried out by Physics from Galilei to the Higgs boson, passing through Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Special Relativity, General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.

With the authors will discuss Giorgio Parisi (President of the Accademia dei Lincei and Professor Emeritus) and Carlo Cellucci (Professor Emeritus). Alice de Fabritiis and Maria Giulia Molinaro (Master’s Degree in Philosophy) will speak for the students' point of view
