He is currently chair of Commissione Nazionale Grandi Rischi (PCM) and continuous his research activities on fundamental particle physics at Sapienza and at CERB. Among his contributions, the prediction, together with S. L. Glashow and J. Iliopoulos, of the existence of a new quark type, the quark charm.
