Titolo:
Bridging Surface and Astroparticle Physics: Carbon Nanostructures and Low-Energy Electrons
Abstract:
My research activity lies at the interface between surface physics and astroparticle physics, with a focus on carbon nanostructures and low-energy electrons.
In this seminar, I will present my work on graphene and carbon nanotube systems, from their characterization, hydrogenation, and interaction with low-energy electrons to their application in experiments addressing fundamental questions in particle physics. I will discuss graphene-based targets in the context of PTOLEMY for neutrino-mass measurements, as well as carbon nanotubes as directional targets for light dark-matter searches within ANDROMeDa. I will also present GREEAT, an experiment designed to investigate the electron-graphene interaction cross section through energy- and angle-resolved transmission measurements, in the context of graphene-based technologies for PTOLEMY and Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors (MPGDs).
