All Thursdays: 15.00 - 17.00


The course is for a non-speciaist audience and can be attended by anyone interested (including high school students).
Attendance to the course for high school teachers can be considered as training activity during service.
University students can attend the course for personal interest.
All lectures will be held within the academic semester november-april. All Lectures videos and slides will be published online by the Physics Department of Sapienza Università di Roma.

The Chair is entitled to Enrico Fermi, and is held by prof. Luciano Maiani, professore Emeritus of Theoretical Physics at Sapienza. Maiani has been president of Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare and of Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, and General Director of CERN in Geneva. He is currently chair of Commissione  Nazionale Grandi Rischi (PCM) and continuous his research activities on fundamental particle physics at Sapienza and at CERB. Among his contributions, the prediction, together with S. L. Glashow and J. Iliopoulos, of the existence of a new quark type, the quark charm.
