Workshop
Five pieces and a do in computational physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and engineering
Roma 18 - 20 December 2013

18/12 CNR Sala Convegni
19/12 Palazzo Rospigliosi
20/12 CNR Sala Convegni

Over the past fourty (plus) years, theories and algorithms originating from computational physics have become important for many disciplines such as chemistry, biology, mathematics and engineering. In spite of this strong common methodological backgroud, however, the computational science community evolves towards highly specialized groups and it is increasingly rare to find (and even more rare to train) computational scientists with competences crossing the boundaries between domains. Yet, the combination of different expertises is important for tackling future challenges in fields such as energy research, proteomics, stress fracture modelling.....

The themes of this workshop are inspired by the attitude towards science, and simulation, of Giovanni Ciccotti. We will then take this opportunity to celebrate his many contributions to the specific topics that we have selected and his outstanding support of CECAM over the last forty years.
