Speaker: Chang-Hee KIM (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI))

Quantum shot noise dominates the total noise for existing gravitational-wave (GW) detectors based on the Fabry-Perot Michelson interferometer.

By squeezing the vacuum fluctuations entering a interferometer's readout port, the sensitivity of the GW detector can be significantly improved. Recently at KASI (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute) experimental works have been carried out demonstrating the generation of squeezed vacuum. Furthermore, we have been partly involved in the overseas collaboration of KAGRA squeezer and EPR quantum entanglement squeezer R&D.

In this talk our GW experimental activities will be presented.
