A Sign Against Gender-Based Violence

Un segno contro la violenza di genere

Last November, we came together to remember, loudly and collectively, the femicide of Giulia Cecchettin. The initiative arose spontaneously as a response to the disorientation felt by so many of us, moved by the proximity of Giulia's experience — she was a university student (even more so, a student in a scientific field), just as many of us are or once were. However, it also served as an opportunity to start a discussion about gender-based violence within the spaces we inhabit daily, as workers and students of the department and the research institutes housed here.
As November 25th approaches, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we aim once again this year to create a moment where we can collectively reject gender-based violence in all its forms.
We propose to gather once more to share a few themed interventions and to “leave a mark” against gender-based violence.
We invite everyone to participate: students, faculty, researchers, and staff members from the department and affiliated research institutes.

The meeting will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 26th, in front of the Marconi Building at the Department of Physics.
