how to carry out a research


- If you know the author or the title of the book you are looking for, you can consult the library catalogue which contains all the volumes in stock. Follow the instructions on the screen to visualize the location of the book then ask the employee to get it.

- If you are looking for a journal or an article you can consult the comprehensive list our periodicals or The Sapienza catalogue to check if it is available on line or on paper. Items accessed on line can be consulted on screen or download on USB pendrive. Paper printed items can be accessed directly by the user via authorized entry to the library store rooms and photocopied.

- If  you know the topic of your interest, you can start your research by clicking The Sapienza catalogue and inserting relevant keywords in the research box.

- If  the documents you need isn’t in the library of our Department you can extend  your search to The Sapienza catalogue, that includes all the bibliographical materials  of the University library. You can  find out where documents are available and ask to read or borrow them contacting the libraries yourself or through the interlibrary loan service.

- If you don’t find what you need in the University libraries you can get further information through a series of links , on-line catalogues and databanks organized according to subjects and available for consultation in our library. You can query the OPAC SBN and ACNP, national electronic catalogs, you can find electronic journals and articles published or specialized documents reviewed in disciplinary databases using web services provided by BIDS, CASPUR, INSPEC e MathSciNet.
